What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

Carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway in the wrist. The tunnel is surrounded by small bones called carpal bones, hence the name carpal tunnel. Under the carpal bones is the median nerve and flexor tendon. When the nerve is squeezed or pressed, carpal tunnel syndrome can quickly develop.
